Tuesday, October 11th - 3rd grade

SACRAMENTAL PREP
If you have a child in 2nd grade who will be preparing for Reconciliation and first Holy Communion this school year, our Sacramental Prep classes have begun! Classes take place the first Wednesday of the month beginning with 6:00 pm Mass, unless otherwise noted. After Mass, parents and 2nd graders will meet separately to begin studying Reconciliation and the Eucharist. If parents have children in other grades, they are invited to come for a class to watch videos and do activities to learn about the saints and other level-oriented aspects of our Catholic faith. For more information or to register, please contact Melissa at [email protected] or 765-825-8578. Our next class will be Wednesday, October 5th.
Sacramental Prep is mandatory for 2nd grade children to receive their First Holy Communion in May. All children in 2nd grade, whether attending public school or St. Gabriel School, and a parent, will need to attend these classes.
SCHOOL DELAYS
There are times when the weather may require us to call for a two-hour delay or early dismissal. For the 2022 – 2023 school year, we have 2 make-up days built into the calendar. These are February 20th and April 10th. If these make-up days are not used, they will be scheduled days off from school. If we have a winter with more than 2 missed days, any additional days missed will be added to the end of the school year beginning on May 25th.
Since we use Fayette County School Corporation bussing, we will observe the same weather related closings or delays. Look for announcements from the school as well as listening to radio stations 1580 AM or 101.3 FM, or the emergency notification system for school closing and delays. All attempts will be made to post on social media (Facebook and Class Dojo) as well.
The following link allows you to sign up to receive emergency alerts and severe weather warnings: (https://public.alertsense.com/SignUp/?RegionId=1679).
Closings - If school is delayed Before School Service will be delayed also.
Special Circumstances - There may be days when St. Gabriel Catholic School and the Fayette County School Corporation do not coordinate days. Special notice and directions will be given for those days.
Parents always have the final decision as to whether they send their children to school during inclement weather.
