WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL!
The 2022 - 2023 school year is off to a terrific start! It has been great to see everyone again after a wonderful summer! Teachers and staff are excited for the new school year. We have 139 students in grades Pre-K - 6th grade this year. If you have any questions or concerns during the school year, please call the school office at 825-7951.
ABSENT STUDENTS
When calling in sick, you must CALL THE OFFICE! Texting the teacher does not take the place of this call. Please tell us the reason for the absence and the symptoms the student is having. Classwork can be picked up from the school office as students are still responsible for missed work. Please self-screen daily!
Bring in a new bottle of Tylenol, Aleve, Motrin, etc. for your child(ren). Please put their name on it with the dosage you want them to have. You will need to have a signed form on file in the office. SOMEONE WILL ALWAYS CALL YOU BEFORE DISPENSING MEDICINE.
COMMUNICATION
Class Dojo is our main means of communication between teachers and parents. You need to check this daily!
Please visit the school website, www.stgabriel.k12.in.us, for news and information. This is a great resource for our families and parish.
Some families did not provide an email address at registration. Mrs. Struewing will be using email as a means of communication this year, so please let the office know if you have not yet provided your email address.
SAFE PARISH
If you will be volunteering in the school or going on a field trip, you must have a completed Safe Parish training on file and a completed background check through the program. Please go to www.archindysafeparish.org and use our passcode Archindy2021.
Remember that all families are asked to volunteer three times throughout the school year. Be looking for a Sign-up-Genius for Fall Festival.
MASS
At this time, the whole school will be attending Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you would like to celebrate with us, please sit in the side pews by the wall.
Mass day uniform is navy knee socks, the jumper and white polo shirt for girls in K-2; the skirt, sweater vest and white polo shirt for girls in 3-6. Boys need to wear long tan pants, the sweater vest, and a white polo shirt. You can read about the dress code in the handbook.
LUNCHES
Lunch prices this year are $3.00 for students and $4.60 for adults. Extra milk may be purchased for $0.40. As a reminder, NO FAST FOOD is allowed to be brought in for lunch.
Forms
Student handbook forms are due Friday, August 26th.
Dress Code
Parents, check and make sure your child is following the dress code. Please review the dress code section of the handbook. Mrs. Struewing will be correcting violations.
